Winter Break: NO SCHOOL Dec. 20th - Jan. 2nd
School Resumes Monday, January 3rd, 2022
Principal's Corner
Ramsey Families,
Ramsey staff have recently learned of some students taking pictures of their peers while in school without them knowing and posting them on social media. In some cases, the written comments along with the picture are inappropriate and demeaning. Students have no right to take or post pictures of their peers without their consent nor make derogatory comment about others. Additional inappropriate social media behavior has been circulating on TikTok with trends that have been encouraging very concerning behavior. This is not the type of behavior that we want our students to engage in both in and out of school.
I am respectfully requesting that you connect with your middle school student to review appropriate social media usage. We are following up with those students and their parents who have been identified as engaging in this behavior. We have made staff aware of this matter and are further educating our students about appropriate social media usage. Thank you for your support regarding this matter and please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.
Lastly, I hope all of our RMS families have a happy and healthy Winter Break! See you in 2022!

Tech Tips - iPad Updates Needed over Break
All student and staff iPads need to be updated to at least iPad OS 15.1 by the time we return from winter break. This is a necessary update to keep them both running properly and secure. Families, please help your students with the process and remind them to get it done. Families without wifi at home, please have your student check in at the library when they return so we can help them here at school.
Be sure the iPad is at least 50% charged AND plugged in before starting the process. Know that it will take at least one more, possibly several to run the update. Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
If the iPad isn't up to date, it will provide a link to Download and Install. If you have any questions, be sure to let me know after break. I am best reached by email cara.hagen@spps.org or text (612) 568-2358.

Tutor Me
SPPS has formed a new partnership with TutorMe to give students free access to online tutoring services. TutorMe allows students to connect with a subject-level expert tutor at any time to get support in current classes. TutorMe is an external company SPPS is contracting with as an additional resource for students alongside the SPPS Academic Support Center and other student support opportunities in our schools.
