Mizon Sea Weed Jelly Scrub Review

by KrazyAjumma

The Mizon Sea Weed Jelly Scrub pops up on a lot of "Korea's Cult Favourites" lists so I thought I would give it a try. The description on the box says:

"The mild scrubbing formula that mixes seaweed with the clean energy of ocean and konjac exfoliates impurities and excess dead skin cells in the pores for smooth skin texture."

I didn't plan on doing a review when I bought it so I don't have an individual picture of the box, here it is with the other things I bought that day.

I have used this mild scrub every morning for the past couple of weeks and I have been pleased with it.

It doesn't perform any miracles but it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry or tight. I tested the pH and it is around 5.75 which is pretty decent.

The texture is unique, it reminds me of applesauce almost, very mealy and slippery which probably comes from the konjac. There are some bits that are more coarse but it is still a very gentle scrub. The scent is faint cucumber herbal/floral type smell, I am very sensitive to scents so I like that it is not strong and it doesn't linger.

It is a "17 Free" formula that includes no Paraben, GMO, Benzyl Alcohol, silicon, Animal, mineral oil, Phenoxyethanol, artificial coloring, Benzophenone, sorbic acid, talc, sulfate, Triclosan, synthetic antioxidant, Benzalkonium Chloride, Imidazolidinyl Urea

Whew! So, what does it have in it? I tried to look this up online because I'm lazy and didn't want to have to type all those long words but the only sources I could find had inaccurate ingredients! So I tackled the big words, hopefully they are all correct.

Ingredients listed on box:

Aqua, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Polyacrylate, Oryza Sativa (Rice) powder, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sapindus Mukurossi Fruit Extract, Caulerpa Lentillifera Extract ( Sea Weed), Glucomannan (Konjac), Amber Powder, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder, Undaria Pinnatifida Powder (Sea Weed), Salicylic Acid, Polysorbate 60, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Methyl Chloro Isothiazolinone, Methyl Isothiazolinone, Chlorphenesin, 1,2-hexanediol, Fragrance

I don't know if I will repurchase this cleanser, mostly because I like to try new things, but it's nice to know I can fall back on it if I need a mild scrub that doesn't irritate my skin.

If you want to try it and don't mind waiting on shipping from Korea I suggest buying it from RoseRoseShop since they have free shipping on Mizon products!
