Great Kindness Challenge

This year at Rockbrook we are trying something different with the "Great Kindness Challenge."

Instead of receiving individual checklists, classrooms will be encouraged to complete as many of the tasks as possible together. Therefore each class has been given a list of 25 tasks to complete. Next week, students will be challenged to complete 5 tasks each day with their classmates. Teachers will choose 5 tasks daily for their students to complete with the goal that all 25 will occur sometime during the week. Here's the list of 25 tasks students are being challenged to complete.

The original list with all 50 tasks can be found at https://thegreatkindnesschallenge.com/tools-2/.

Thanks for supporting this awesome program of Kindness!

Parent's Night Out - February 9th

Parent's Night Out is a fun adults-only event for parents of students at Rockbrook to get together, enjoy each other's company, meet new people, and help to support the school. Please consider joining on February 9th. Get a sitter for the kids and join whether just for a bit or make an evening of it! We hope to see you there.

Mr. Higginbotham Takes Polar Plunge Challenge

This year you've probably seen information about our Unified Activities at Rockbrook and other schools throughout the district. The Special Olympics Unified Schools Program is a fast growing initiative that brings students with and without intellectual disabilities together for fun and friendship. Coming up on February 9th they will be hosting the Omaha Polar Plunge at Lake Zorinsky. This year, Mr. Higginbotham will be plunging into the ice cold waters to help raise funds for Rockbrook's and Westside's Unified Activities. Two ways you can help are to join us for one of our upcoming Unified activities this year, such as Unified STEAM Night on Jan 31st at Oakdale, Unified Floor Hockey, February 9th at 11:00, or come out to Lake Zorinsky and cheer on Mr. Higginbotham. If you so choose you can also donate money that will help to support Special Olympics and Westside and Rockbrook Unified Activities at: https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/garret-higginbotham/Omaha-Polar-Plunge-2019

Lunch Times

Lunch Times

Joining your child for lunch is a fun and enjoyable tradition that Rockbrook is pleased to support when your schedule allows. For this purpose we have designated a guest table during our lunch period where you and your child can share a meal and each other’s company. To ensure that there is enough space for our out-of-school guests we ask that families eat with their own children only. When room allows, guests may also sit at the regular lunch table with the class. If you would like a school lunch, please make your reservation with the office before 9 a.m.
