Annual Food Drive Breaks Record!

Wow!! The annual VISTO food drive had record-breaking success! Edison, Chalmers and Lee students, families, and staff donated 7,830 lbs of food to our local food pantry! WOW! This is the most food that has been donated in 10 years!

Congratulations to Mrs. Rucker's first grade class for being the number one class with 850 items!

#ReverseRett Campaign Brings our GISD Family Together

Students at GJHS and Chalmers raised money for the #ReverseRett Campaign this week. 7th grade student, Malaina Denison, spoke to the students through the GJH announcements about her sister, Colbie, and why it is important to her and her family to reverse the effects of Rett Syndrome. Coach Keisha Visits with GJHS Young Ladies.

Coach Keisha visited the Junior High Lady Leopards. She spoke candidly with the young ladies about how girls deal with self image and self esteem differently. As a demonstration, she poured glitter into one young lady's hand and asked her to pass it on to another. The end result? Glitter was on everyone's hands and on the floor. The message? Rumors and gossip are the same...as you share them, they leave something behind that can't easily be cleaned up nor can it be put entirely back to the way it was before.
