The Jones / Wolf Connector
Week of May 8, 2017 -- Unit 6 Week 2
Field Trip This Week!
9:15am - Noon
Shireman Homestead
"We are so excited that you have chosen to spend the day with us on the farm where our CMS Adventure 8 students and the Shireman Homestead crew will team up to help you and your students experience a taste of life on a Hoosier homestead in the early 1900’s. You will hear music, pan for gems, play games, enjoy farm critters, make crafts, and learn about cooking, mercantilism, medicine, weaving, and more! Dress appropriately for the weather because this is both an indoor and outdoor experience. Rain or shine! We have the project divided into 3 major areas (animal barn, western town, and mining town) with a few exhibits at each area. You may want to spread your large group out over the three areas to begin your visit. The exhibits may be visited in any order. We have trails for hiking from area to area and even a horse-drawn or tractor-pulled wagon to ride!"
