Tuesday Morning Tidbits

For the week of December 3 - 7, 2018

Weekly Newsletter of the GIA Warriors

Winter/Cold Weather Attire

As we enter into the winter season, we believe outdoor recess and P.E. are an important and valuable part of each scholar’s day. Fresh air, exercise, and time spent outside afford scholars a break from the structure of the classroom. We know that scholars perform best at school when they have an opportunity for vigorous outdoor play, so we try to get them outside whenever possible.

We would like to remind parents to make sure their scholars are dressed appropriately (overcoats, gloves, and hats) for the cold weather and are prepared to participate in outdoor recess and P.E.

As a reminder, only Genesis approved uniforms may be worn inside the building. No unapproved sweatshirts, jackets, or sweaters may be worn inside the building. Genesis Gents and Genesis Gems sweatshirts may only be worn inside on designated dress down Fridays.

Please refer to the Dress Code section in the GIA Family and Scholar Handbook for more information.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Dees or Mr. Christian.

GIA GIVES DAY continues

As a public charter school, GIA does not receive nearly as much funding as traditional public schools receive.

Also, unlike traditional public schools, GIA incurs substantial expenses such as the $4,000,000 mortgage for its property and facility.

Fundraising is critical to the success of GIA. Genesis Innovation Academy relies on support from its parents and community partners.

The Parent Support Committee (PSC) is asking each family to make an online donation of $20 or more in support of GIA GIVES DAY. All funds received will support classroom programs and activities.

Online donations can be made at:
