Breakfast Quiche


6 egg whites

1/4 cup 2% cottage cheese

1/4 cup shredded colby cheese

1 cup soy milk

1/4 cup flour

1 tsp garlic, minced

6 medium mushrooms, sliced

1 cup broccoli, chopped

12 oz. turkey sausage


1. Cook sausage and crumble.

2. Cut mushrooms and broccoli

3. Mix egg whites, cheeses, milk, flour, and garlic. Add mushrooms, broccoli and sausage

4. Pour into a greased 9" pie pan.

5. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

This breakfast quiche has only 142 calories per one, 137 gram, serving. One serving has only .8 grams of sugar and has 19 grams of protein making it an optimal, fat fighting, breakfast choice. There is also a fair amount of dairy, which has been proven to help fight fat throughout the day. Eating a good breakfast filled with protein helps you feel fuller for a longer period of time, decreasing the need to for unnecessary snacking. It is also high in Vitamin C, calcium, and phosphorus.
