Letter from the Principal:

Dear Gator Families-

Welcome to our first full week of Virtual Instruction. Thank you for your patience and flexibility at home. I appreciate those who have reached out to us with questions and thank you for showing grace and appreciation to our staff who are working extremely hard to engage and instruct your children. I do believe that everyone's confidence and comfort with Virtual Instruction will grow over time. This new process takes different skills, patience, organization and flexibility at home and at school. Thank you for taking this journey with us!

An HSE District survey went out on Monday. Please provide us with some quick feedback so we can best service your family under the current circumstances. This is for parents only at the K-4 level. We know that Covid 19 has directly impacted many of our families in the GES community as has social unrest. We want to help where we can as we all make the adjustment back into the school year! Thank you for your time in completing the survey. GES Parent Survey K-4

As always, if you have any concerns about your child's social, emotional or academic growth, please email your child's teacher. They want to work with you on a regular basis to help your child! You are welcome to reach out to Mrs. Keller (lkeller@hse.k12.in.us), Mrs. Laffey (llaffey@hse.k12.in.us) or me (clthomas@hse.k12.in.us), whichever is most appropriate if you need further assistance. I do encourage you to direct specific teacher questions directly to your child's teacher. We also recommend you email directly to related arts teachers any questions that you may have pertaining to Art (egreen@hse.k12.in.us), Music (jkoenig@hse.k12.in.us), PE (rsutherlin@hse.k12.in.us), Focus and Flexibility (kpovinelli@hse.k12.in.us), and Global Studies/ Language (szimmerman@hse.k12.in.us for first semester)

Thank you again for your continued support of Geist Elementary.

Have a safe and relaxing weekend,

Christi Thomas, Principal
