Good Afternoon Graham Families,

This week, I'm yielding this space to Graham's Nurse Randi Kleffman, for an important announcement:

"Dear Graham Staff,

After careful consideration, my husband and I have decided to start our next adventure in life, and as such, I will be officially resigning my position as School Nurse for Graham Elementary at the end of the 21-22 school year. My husband and I will be fulfilling a dream we've always had, which is to relocate to Colorado. We are very excited and ready to begin this new chapter.

I have really enjoyed the 8 years I’ve spent at Graham as a Falcon. Some of you may know this was my second stint at Graham. The first time I left to be with my children who were competitively skating in Colorado Springs. When I returned to this area and found Graham was once again looking for a nurse, I was so excited to come back and have really enjoyed my second go-around ever since. I will miss coming to Graham School and seeing all the students and families grow before my eyes, but am grateful for the wonderful friendships and memories I've made.

I wish you all the best, and thanks for letting me be a part of this nest!

Nurse Randi"

Good luck on your next adventure, Nurse Kleffman!

2022-2023 Kindergarten Information Presentation

If you have a kindergartner starting out at Graham in the Fall, or know of a family that has a Kindergartner that will be starting at Graham, please refer to the 2022-2023 Kindergarten Information Presentation.

We also ask that anyone with an incoming Kindergartener please fill out our Kindergartner Information Form, which helps us to assess early in the registration period what our incoming student numbers will be.

Kids Heart Challenge Volunteers

The PTA board is looking for volunteers to help with the Kids Heart Challenge (formerly Jump Rope for Heart) that will be taking place on Friday, 3/25. If you are able to help out, they are still looking for volunteers. Each class will participate for 30 minutes at a time and 5 parent volunteers are needed for each class.

If you're interested in volunteering, please visit this sign up link.

Vacations and Classwork

As we grow closer to Spring Break, and warmer weather, please note that for absences related to vacations or trips, teachers are not required to provide homework for your student. This is purely on a case by case basis with the homeroom teacher, and with ample time for the coordination.

If your student plans to be absent during a school day, they are welcome to follow any information or assignments in Google Classroom or follow up after they return.

Commerating 25 Years of Graham Elementary

Graham has been a part of this community since 1996. We are celebrating 25 years of academic success and achievement. As a part of the celebration we would like to install a work of art created by our Graham students and families. The PTA has made available 4x4 ceramic tiles to all current students, staff and alumni for purchase.

If your family is interested in participating, but is unable to purchase one at this time, please reach out to Ms. Walton by email ( or phone (630-428-6900) with any questions. Order forms for tiles can be found in the weekly PTA Newsletter.

Boys Choice this year will be at Fuzzy Logic Escape Room, located in Downers Grove! The PTA will have all of Fuzzy Logic reserved from 4:30 - 10pm on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.

This is a facility with 5 different escape rooms. The games last one hour and there are a variety of start times so please sign up for a room that most closely matches the level of your family at a time that works for you too. Fuzzy Logic recommends The Playground for families with young children, Superheroes, Super Villains, and the Vet Office are all right in the middle, and Temple Raiders is best for our families with older kids.

Each room can accommodate a maximum of 9 people. Please make sure to only sign up for one game/time and indicate the number of people who are coming with you so we utilize the space well and don't have to turn anyone away (and please remember that this is only for boys who are students at Graham and one parent or guardian - no other siblings). Please come early to your session so you can enjoy some pizza in the party room!

Cost is $15 per person and you can pay using our PalPal link: or you can send a check for the total amount into the main office at school with a note on the envelope that reads, "PTA - Boys Choice".

RSVP/Sign up for a room at no later than Tuesday, April 5, 2022 and if you have any questions, please contact Kristin Kirchner, at
