What's New at 610 Henry
We need your vote!
As we hope you have seen in over e-mails, we have an incredible opportunity to improve our school through participatory budgeting. Please spread the word to anyone you know who lives in district 39 (see the map below).
Please vote in Councilmember Brad Lander's District 39's participatory budgeting! Voting takes place this week only: April 14-19. BNS/BCS has a project on the ballot - we are the second project in the Education column! Please vote! Please vote! Please vote!!
Yesterday, BCS staff supported students on an expeditionary outing to vote as part of a special civics program. They had a great time learning about our building, how city council operates, the other projects on the ballot, and how to speak up for what the people want in their district!
Not sure if you live in District 39? Check out the map below.
Students who live in District 39 who are over 14 can also vote.
Here's the project from our school:
PS 146/MS 448 Innovative Gym Renovation ($225,000)
BNS/BCS serves 1,400 children. 50% qualify for free lunch. 30% have disabilities. Overcrowding is an issue. Renovation of a room (currently not useable) allows for physical fitness, yoga, dance, etc. Location: 610 Henry St. (3rd Pl – 4th Pl) (Carroll Gardens)
