Supported Study Halls

Students that were failing 1 or more subjects on their 5 week report have been placed in an Support Study hall if their schedules allow it. The purpose of the Supported Study Hall is to provide students with a quiet and structured environment with access to a core subject teacher for support. Study halls are updated and changed each 5 weeks. The 1st marking period closes on November 5th! Please see your school counselor if you need additional help passing your courses.

SENIOR College Applications!

If you are a senior and you are planning to apply to a 4 year college, please be certain to meet with your school counselor and go over the steps needed to complete your application. We have held "Application Boot Camps", visited SUPA Economics, English 12 and scheduled private meetings to help students navigate the application process. Below is a helpful checklist:

  • Create a Common Application Account at: www.commonapp.org

  • Meet with your counselor to connect your Naviance and Common Application

  • Check to see if you schools require SAT/ACT scores (*many schools are waiving SAT/ACTs but they are still required for certain schools or specific honors programs)

  • Complete Common Application online (FOLLOW DEADLINES FROM COLLEGES!!)

  • Request teacher recommendations in person from teacher (try to give your teachers enough time to write a nice letter! 2-3 weeks in advance of the college deadline). Follow up by requesting the recommendation through Naviance

  • Write your essay (part of the Common App)

  • Attend Financial Aid Night (*November 1st @ 6:00) Complete the FAFSA form online www.fafsa.ed.gov

Managing your Stress

As the school year starts to ramp up, it is not uncommon for students to feel stressed and overwhelmed. The transitions we have faced in the past year and a half have been challenging to say the least. It is important to be sure to take care of yourself in order to be the best version of "you".

When things get tough, how do you handle stress?

Do you have a person you can call and speak with?

Do you take a walk to cool off?

Below are some great pointers on how to regulate your stress and clear your mind!
