Equity Statement
In our work of serving all students in Wisconsin, WRCCS is committed to helping communities design and redesign structures that more intentionally serve black and indiginous people of color in a culturally responsive way.
WRCCS is adding to our authorizer, governance board, and leadership resources explicit steps these entities can take to remove barriers and intentionally focus on equity in their work. We created a folder focused on our equity tools that are already available, and we will continue to add as we allocate our grant funds to develop additional responsive resources. Additionally, we will restructure our charter school competencies to more explicitly focus design steps on equity.
Our team's culture playbook includes the pillar, "grow with intention". While we recognize it is not anyone's obligation to support us in our own education about injustices, we hope to continue collaborating with folks throughout the state to ensure we focus our energy and serve in an intentionally anti-racist way. We are on the road to a better future together.
With grace and humility, The WRCCS Team (Sarah, Nick, and Angie)
