Midwest District Review
News from the Midwest Distrct of the Missionary Church
Report from Pastor and Wives Retreat 2020
In Mark 6:31 Jesus commanded His disciples: “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest,” and 23 pastors and wives from around the Midwest District did just that as they met in Newton, Kansas for our annual Pastors and Wives Retreat on September 22-24, 2020. In a year when so many gatherings needed to be cancelled, we were grateful for God’s timing and open doors that allowed us to be able to meet together and enjoy great fellowship in the Word, in prayer, and over delicious meals. After reflecting on the truth of Matthew 5:13-16 in which Jesus said that we are to be salt and light, the group saw that imagery come to life as they enjoyed an outing to nearby Hutchinson, Kansas to the Strataca Salt Mine. Thanks to the many folks at First Missionary Church in Newton for their hospitality and efforts to make this a special time of refreshment for our district pastors and wives!

Installation of Nathan Schmidt on October 18th at Northeast Church in Lincoln, Nebraska
Celebration
On Sunday October 18, Lincoln Northeast church celebrated the installation of Nathan Schmidt as its new senior pastor. Nathan, Amy, and their girls had been, until recently, serving as missionaries in Bolivia.
District Superintendent Andrew Petro performed the installation service, and the leadership of Lincoln Northeast laid hands on the Schmidts, prayed for them, and committed to the Lord and their new work.
Greetings!

2021 Midwest District Conference- Speaker Tim Maki
My name is Timothy Maki Sr, and I am the Lead Director of Actx Network. I’ve been married to Stefanie and have worked with her in ministry for 30 years. We have 16-year-old twins, TJ and Isabel. I’ve been involved in evangelism, church ministries, and church multiplication for over 30 years.
Most recently I pastored North Star Church of Hibbing, Minnesota, which we began ten years ago. As of 2016, I transitioned out of my Lead Pastor role and began Actx Network, a ministry that is taking what we’ve started to the next level in the areas of evangelism, leadership development, and church multiplication.
A ministry network was a part of the initial vision the Lord gave us when we moved back to my home town to begin North Star Church. This vision is to multiply disciples, leaders, and churches wherever the Lord leads. We have seen this begin on a small level as hundreds have come to faith in Jesus Christ and have been discipled in their new faith, and dozens of leaders have been trained and sent into ministry.
Through Actx Network, we are anticipating the Lord of the Harvest to bring multitudes of people to faith and Christian growth, raise up and equip hundreds of leaders to effectively go into the harvest, and position hundreds of new and existing churches to impact their communities for the glory of God.
Sincerely,
Tim

Christian men everywhere are retreating from leadership in the home, the church, the marketplace of ideas.
Shamed into silence by the very notion of masculinity in and outside the church, many guys have decided they'd rather go fishing.
However, a man of God, endued with a spirit of godly masculinity, is one of the greatest dangers to the kingdom of darkness, and one of the greatest proactive forces on earth for the gospel, the church, and the home.
The “Activate" 2021
Conference seeks to awaken God's design of the masculine spirit and the world-shaking power of godly manhood.
