This marks the end of our first month of Distance Learning, and you all deserve a pat on the back! Thank you for your continued support and positive attitude as we strive to keep the students engaged in active learning and connected to their school family.
It was a pleasure to meet with so many parents for our coffee chats with Mrs. Lee and Ms.Rasmussen this week! We heard a lot of great feedback and some super ideas to continue to build community and to support the students as they navigate this year. It was helpful to hear some of things that are working in classrooms in terms of teacher communication and the convenience of Canvas to access the learning tools virtually. We loved hearing stories of students picking up the technology so smoothly, as well as how organized and independent the students are becoming. Clearly, we all have our minds on how to provide more social interaction for the students, as well as ideas we can use to continue to motivate and encourage the great efforts that students are putting forth. Thank you to all who were able to attend the zoom coffee chats; we are looking forward to doing these on a regular basis!
We appreciate your diligence in responding to the automated phone message when students are marked absent or tardy. We are being very generous with the marking of tardy, as we know that there can be some technical issues. A reminder, all students will be expected to start their day at the designated time, 8:30 for Grades 1-5 and 8:45 for DK and Kinder.
We are aware that it is a long instructional period until lunch for our kids, so please prepare a snack for your students during the recess time so that they can make it to the end of their day!
Thank you so much for your partnership in these challenging times!
Stay safe and healthy!
