CA Update 5-14-16

Home of the Braves

Where has the school year gone? Do you realize students have four weeks left before final exams. AP exams finished on Friday, IB are right behind finishing this week. Saturday night the Class of 2017 held their Junior Prom at the Finger Lakes Community College campus center. It was a great night for the students. What impressed me most is the number of students who came for the dinner before the dance. This is a new tradition we are trying to grow. A special thank you for the night goes out to the class officers and advisers Mrs. Blazey and Mrs. Bittel.

We have a flurry of events coming up. The first is the Mock Car Crash scheduled for this Thursday. Professionals from law enforcement, medical field and court system will be on hand to help us put on a multi-scene re-enactment. Our goal is to make our students think before they act. Next Wednesday night will be our annual Awards Ceremony starting at 7:00 pm. If your child is receiving an award or scholarship, you will get a letter in the mail inviting you to attend. On Friday, May 27 we will have our bi-annual Spring Fling celebration. This is a day where we take time out to allow the students to come together for various activities. We will also distribute yearbooks.

Let's finish strong!

Have a great week,

Your Principal,

Vern Tenney

Mural Club

Sophomore students, Jenna Koelling, Alexis Miller and Hope Snyder joined art teacher Danielle Zatkowsky at Thursday's Board of Education meeting to present the CA highlight that focused on our new club, the Mural Club.

Mural Club is made up of students who are devoted to leaving their mark with art!. It is an opportunity for students to be creative if they are unable to fit art in their schedule and an additional art opportunity for those who just can’t get enough art. Students are designing murals to be placed throughout the building. Some teachers have asked for the space outside their classrooms to be transformed into impressive student art work. I am so proud of these students - they are doing CA a great service!
