Settling In
As we come to the end of week number 2, it certainly seems that everyone is beginning to settle in to their new schedules and routines. For some, it hasn't taken long for the "Honeymoon Phase" to go by the wayside, but for the most part, we have a great group of Wildcats this year. Please continue in your efforts to establish our routines and expectations.
Up & Coming Events
Fire Drill - Tuesday during 2nd period
Leadership Council - Tuesday at 4:15 - Library

Grades
By now, you should have some grades entered into the grade book. Remember, for Intermediate Courses the break down is 33.3% for Academic Practice and 66.7% for Academic Achievement. If you have not set up the categories in your grade book yet, check with a neighbor or a team member on how to do this.
Progress reports are coming soon, so be sure that you have at least 3 grades in the computer.
Rocco's Safety Corner
We will have our first fire drill this week on Tuesday, 9/8/15, during 2nd period. Make sure you have everything together in your emergency bags/buckets, folders, and know your routes. I am working to replace missing or expired items in the emergency bags/buckets and equip those new or moved classrooms that do not have any.
The Red Emergency Folders have been updated and distributed. Please see the link below to prepare for the coming drills. I outlined the required contents of each Emergency Folder and the required procedures within them.

Success
On Wednesday, be sure that your students complete the Open House Schedule Form on their own paper. Remember to instruct them to take it to their parents.
Deposits
All deposits should be counted with the deposit form completed before being brought to Adrienne. The Business Office does not want secretaries to count the money.
Parent Contacts
At this point, we need to be contacting parents in an effort to establish a positive rapport before we have to make that first negative contact. Be sure that you are documenting your contacts in Aware by clicking on the Journal Tab and adding an action item. Any attempt to contact a parent needs to be documented for our records. If you are unfamiliar with how to do this, check with a neighbor, your team leader, or come see an admin.
SUBS
When you are putting in for a sub the morning of your absence, be sure to text Adrienne, Rocco and myself after entering it into AESOP. Texting is the fastest way to make contact with us in the morning. Complete sub plans must include: your duty post times and an explanation of what to do, lesson plans including materials needed per class and Rosters with suggested student helpers per class. Please be sure that your profile in AESOP is updated and all information there is correct.
Classroom Disruptions
If you have a student that is disrupting your class, please call or page the front office. They will then radio for an administrator and we will be there shortly. DO NOT send students to the office without an adult escort when they have been disruptive.
After School Clubs
If you are a sponsor of an after school club, please let Adrienne know when you plan to start meeting.
AVID Demo
Our application has been submitted and we have received some very positive feedback. In fact, they are already requesting potential dates for us to be validated in the spring. We would like to thank Mary and the Site Team for all of their hard work.
#CSISDchat
For the month of September they will focus on Social Emotional Learning every Tuesday Night at 8 PM.
ID Badges - Last Notice
If you have lost your ID Badge, please email Lupe Contreras as quickly as possible to get it replaced. It is a district policy that all employees wear IDs when on campuses.
