Edition 6: September 10, 2021

Hello Parents and Students,

Thank you to all the parents who participated in our Back to School Night. I hope you have a better understanding of your child's classroom curriculum and expectations. A recording of the presentation is posted on your teacher's Do Jo.

I am so excited that we have parent interest in our School Site Council. I plan on having the ballots prepared by Wednesday and the results by next Friday so we can start approving things such as our school site plan, safety goals, and parent engagement policy. The SSC meetings are open for all parents even if you are not a voting member.

Below is a letter from our superintendent, Dr. Keeley, regarding our "Bottled Water for Schools Program." Please take a moment to read this letter.

Last week I had two 6th grade girls, Mandy Cameon and Miranda Haisch, ask me if we can have a Freedom Walk parade to remember 9/11 Patriot Day. Of course I said, absolutely. We took a moment of silence to remember September 11th, 20 years ago our country was attacked by terrorist, and 2977 people were killed. Our country united and grieved together as so many people were impacted. Today, children and staff wore Red, White, and Blue, many held our great flag, and we proudly walked together in unity as we listened to Patriotic music. Students were so respectful. I know I wasn't the only one with goosebumps. Wishing all of you a safe weekend as you honor Patriot's Day on Saturday. Enjoy the pictures.
