Scholastics Art and Writing Awards National Ceremony
FHS Artist, Clare Knox, earned National Honors through Scholastics Art and Writing Competition.
This year, over 300,000 pieces were submitted to Scholastics from across the country, of those, only 24,000 received Regional Gold Keys and were sent to New York for national judging. Of the 24,000 sent to New York, only 1,800 earn National Awards, with only 800 of those earning Gold Medals. Clare's piece is one of those 800 out of 300,000 entered to earn this distinction and was chosen as the American Vision Award Winner from our Region - the top piece from the Michigan Thumb Region.
The National Ceremony will take place at Carnegie Hall in New York City on June 9th at 6pm. There are many events, from art gallery and museum tours, tours of Parsons New School of Art and Design, as well as other cultural institutions as part of the awards for both students and educators on June 8th and 9th.

FHS/RMS Moving to Electronic Report Cards
Dear Fraser Families,
We are excited to announce that moving forward we will be delivering report cards electronically for our students in grades 7-12. Report cards will no longer be mailed home.
Your student’s grades will be accessible in your secure PowerSchool Parent Portal account at the end of the school year.
The decision to transition to electronic report cards was made for several reasons. First, the district is committed to reducing the amount of paper we use. Also, this will allow families immediate access to final grades as soon as they are posted. Finally, there is a significant amount of time and resources spent on printing and mailing report cards, and a number of them end up returned to us because we don’t have the most up-to-date address on file.
We will send additional communication when grades are available in June.
If you do not have a Parent Portal account set up at this time, a separate email will be sent within the next week with instructions to create one.
Thank you for your continued support,
Kristin Ledford
Director of Communications
Dress Code Reminders
Common sense and propriety are the basic guidelines to determine appropriate dress for the student. Most forms of dress are acceptable for students as long as they are neat and clean, or are required in observance of religious customs, and do not interfere with the educational process. We rely on the good taste and judgment of the students and the responsibility of the parents to advise their children of the appropriate dress in accordance with the School District Dress Code policy. As the weather gets warmer, please check out the following:
- Bare midriff tops, halters, revealing tops, tank tops, muscle shirts, mesh clothing, see-through clothing, blouses or shirts with string type straps.
- Shorts, skirts and dresses shorter than the tip of the student’s index finger when arms are hanging down.
If students violate the dress code policy they will be asked to correct the issue or will have to be picked up from school. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Students After School
In order to provide a safe environment, we are asking that all students are in the appropriate place after school.
- Students who have practice need to be with a coach. Students should not plan on staying at school until practice starts.
- Credit Recovery ends at 3:30pm and students are required to leave the building afterwards.
- Students can wait for rides until 3:30pm in the Media Center. After 3:30pm students will be asked to wait at the main entrance for their rides, if they are found wandering the building they will be asked to leave.
- If students are not participating in extracurricular activities, they cannot be in the Athletic Wing after school.
- If students plan on coming to an after-school activity, they should plan on leaving the school and coming back at the start of the event.
We appreciate everyone’s efforts in making the focus of school be on learning in a safe environment. If you have any questions of concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
