Towanda Primary ~ Early Childhood - 2nd grade

Towanda Intermediate ~ 3rd - 6th grade

Note from Mrs. Dodd

Can you believe it is November? We have had a wonderful school year so far. Our fundraiser was a huge success! Thank you to all of you for helping with that. I enjoyed having lunch with our students that were top 10 in donations. We also had fun blowing toilet paper and dumping slime for fundraiser donations. You can see the videos on our Facebook page. As we get closer to the winter, please keep in mind that we still go outside for recess and some of our science lessons. A jacket and/or coat will help keep your child warm. Thank you.

  • Fall Fundraiser Donation Drive wrapped up October 18th. We made a record with money earned for our school…$17,772! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, to everyone who worked hard and helped with this!!! We are blown away at your generosity!

  • Parent Teacher Conferences- Thank you for all the yummy food donations for teachers! They really appreciated it!

  • Spangles Night Out- Our first restaurant night for this year will be at Spangles on November 18th. Watch for your student to wear a reminder sticker home that night. Other restaurant night dates will be announced soon!

  • Amazon Teacher Wish Lists: Want to help provide things for the classrooms but don’t know what teachers need? We have set up a wish list for each of our teachers to fill out as they have needs through Amazon. If you are interested, please see our PTO Facebook page.

  • BOXTOPS!! Since the Boxtop company has switched from clipping BoxTops to scanning your receipt through their app, we have seen a drastic decrease in participation. PLEASE consider downloading the APP and taking the time to scan your receipt when you shop! It’s super simple and helps our schools a lot!

Thank you for all your support! It really does MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Save the date! Thursday December 2, 2021

Christmas Music Programs at CHS Auditorium

Kdg-2nd at 6:30pm, 3rd-6th (including Bands) at 7:15pm

Your child should arrive no more than 20 minutes before the program begins

(unless they are a 3rd-6th grader who comes to watch the 6:30 program).

Students wait in the CHS music classrooms until showtime.

Please have your child wear nice dress clothes or school clothes. Another option

is to dress like your favorite Christmas movie character (Santa, The Grinch,

Frosty, Rudolph, etc.) As you choose your outfit for the evening, please be

aware that we will be standing close together on stage. (No tall hats or big

hair bows, please)

If you prefer that your child wear a facemask, please send the mask with them

that evening.

Thanks for supporting your child in this special event!

Wendy Goldsmith, Music Director

We had lots of fun in the library during the month of October! See the photos for just some of the spooky good times we had during library lessons.

The end of the first nine weeks was October 8th which meant it was time for the first AR awards of the year to be presented. Students who met their AR goals for the first nine weeks received a coupon for a free mini pizza, generously provided by Gambino’s of Towanda. A special congratulations goes to 6th grade for having ALL the students who were here for the entire nine weeks meet their first nine weeks goals! Way to go 6th grade!!! Congratulations, also, to the following students for earning medals and candy bars as the top three point-earners for their grade level:

3rd Grade:

1st - Jade Allen

2nd - Cole Medlin

3rd - Cameron Faulkner

4th Grade:

The end of October saw the return of the “Haunted Library” at both the primary and intermediate schools. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the many generous folks who donated--or loaned--us their time, talent, and Halloween treasure to make the Haunted Libraries a wonderful success once again. It was a blast!

Happy Reading!
