Gadgets, Games, and Gizmos….122 Inventions that Changed the World-This book has very cool drawings of some very important inventions along with a description of them
The Devil in the White City - cool history of Chicago around the time of the World’s fair...mixed in with a serial killer
“Murder on the Orient Express” by Agatha Chrisite- She is one of my favorite authors. It’s great to read a good murder mystery with several strange plot twisits to get your mind off the world around you. Then you can watch the movie and compare them. The movie preview is below.

JoJo Siwa: The Sweetest Dream by Katy Sprinkel - The riveting biography of a teen “popstar” and dancer that will make you question her millions of dollars and the JoJo Bow obsession by 6 year old girls everywhere.
“Nineteen Eighty-Four” By George Orwell- I guess because I feel like Big Brother is watching.
Educated -great read about how no matter what your past may be, you can steer the direction of your future and make a better life for yourself. Great inspiration for thinking about how some of our students may come from hard places, yet demonstrating with resilience it is possible to obtain what seems unlikely.
The Alchemist- spiritual read about listening to your inner voice and following your heart. This is an older book, but was very influential to me. Despite adversity, you learn that one must go on what your inner calling is pulling you towards.
“Oh, the Places You’ll Go” -This one never gets old. It could be called ‘The Game of Life.’ Dr. Seuss’ ability to take you down the different paths of life, even the most dark and challenging ones, in a child’s manner, yet while offering hope and excitement about all the possibilities is unmatchable.
