Message from Mrs. Wilken
Dear Trailblazer Families,
I am looking forward to this Tuesday evening for our parent / guardian education night. The topic could not be more relevant in our times: Digital Safety! Please plan to join us in our SRES MPR and feel free to bring friends. We all need to hear and learn how to keep our kids safe in our digital and social media driven world. See below for more info.
This week students and staff are excited as we kick off our 1st annual PTA sponsored Read- a-Thon. Please consider helping your your child/ren go to https://pledgestar.com/stoneranch to enroll and set up an account to keep track of all the minutes they read, are read to, or listen to books. It all counts!
Your child should have brought home a hardcopy purple packet. If not, you can access the packet here. We are encouraging all families to use the online pledge star system to record minutes read, however, we will be accepting hardcopy recording sheets, if needed. Students that use this option, can turn sheets into the office.
This Friday, it's all about March Madness! Our next student council sponsored spirit day is college day. If your child don't have any college gear, wear sports jerseys, shirts, hats, etc. :)
Please help me keep your child safe. I am asking you all to please follow our drop off and pick up routines and rules. Do not have your child get out of your car at any place EXCEPT the p
unloading/loading zones in one of the 2 drop-off/pickup circles. Pull up as far as you can, stop your car, stay inside your car, and your child should exit from the passenger side of the car. We have staff to help with this process. Thank you for your cooperation and support so that ALL students are safe.
As always, proud to be your principal,
Mrs. Wilken

Reflections!
Reflections this year was a huge success! We had 80 submissions representing every grade and each category; dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.
While there were many standouts, the California State PTA presents one Award of Excellence and three Awards of Merit in each art category and age division, in which several Mustangs went on to win!
The Award of Merit honor went to two 4th graders, Gwyneth Christensen for Dance Choreography and Howell Jian for Visual Arts.
Three Stone Ranch students were selected for the district's highest level and will continue to the state level after receiving The Award of Excellence! Those recipients were two more 4th graders, Audrey Hansen for Dance Choreography and Navya Vivek for literature, and 1st grader Sama Shahangian for Film Production.
Certificates will be awarded at the Thursday morning assembly on March 30th.
In a few weeks, winners will be recognized on the state of California Reflections page, which currently has last year's results: https://capta.org/programs-events/reflections/award-of-excellence-recipients/
https://capta.org/programs-events/reflections/award-of-excellence-recipients/award-of-merit/
To all those who participated and your supportive Teachers, we commend you for your outstanding creative achievement. You, your family, your classroom, and your school should be proud of your creative abilities and confidence to submit a reflections entry this year.
We look forward to your participation next year in the Reflections Art contest. The 2023-2024 theme is "I Am Hopeful Because…".

Thank you again for making the Reflections Program successful. We'll do it again next year!

We all know, work with, or have heard the story of a San Diego teacher whose efforts have greatly impacted their students, community, or school!
To celebrate Teacher Appreciation week, May 8th-12th, 2023, the San Diego Helpful Honda Dealers will be honoring and surprising four deserving teachers, each, with $5,000 worth of school supplies and materials they need to better help their students succeed!
We want to identify teachers in schools across San Diego County who have gone above and beyond to give their students a memorable and unmatched educational experience – and we need your help!
We want to make this recognition a surprise, so we rely on colleagues, parents, or friends, etc. to help make this happen – and not to tell the nominee in advance – this way, it’s a true surprise.

Camp Invention - Make New Discoveries this Summer
Camp Invention will be here before you know it! Spaces are filling up quickly in each week.
Camp Invention has offered unique STEM experiences for more than 30 years! What makes Camp Invention so special is that it guides kids to build real-life skills through real-world challenges. It’s incredible that just one week at camp can drastically shift how kids approach problem solving — but we've seen it happen firsthand as they design solutions, build prototypes and gain confidence in their own ideas. This is a high-energy, hands-on camp, and this year we are so excited for the all-new program.
Check out this video https://youtu.be/wWiflzvRmJM where children take you through a day in the life of a Camp Invention camper! If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
We’re looking forward to an exciting week with your innovator at Del Sur's Camp Invention either June 19-23 or June 26-30! Register before the end of March and take advantage of an early bird $25 discount! Use code SUM25!

Reminder - PUSD 2023-2024 Continuing Student Registration is Open!
Online Continuing Student Registration will be open from March 1- March 31, 2022. We must receive a completed digital packet for all returning students. This will allow for proper placement of your student for the 2023-2024 school year. This annual digital process will allow a family to complete one single “family” packet instead of completing one packet per student. Packets can be completed using any computer, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection.
Continuing Registration Steps:
1. Login and complete the digital registration packet via the online registration portal found here.
2. Review and complete any required forms located at the conclusion of the process. A packet is not considered finalized until this step is completed.
Please note: MEDICATION FORMS or ADDITIONAL SIGNED SITE SPECIFIC FORMS WILL NOT BE COLLECTED UNTIL SCHOOL BEGINS IN AUGUST FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR.
