Principal's Message
Thank you so much to Mrs. Grahn and the fifth-grade volunteers for all of their work putting up the inspirational messages in our hallways and bathrooms. They have worked hard for several months choosing the quotes and painting the images. It looks great! Please see below for some pictures as well as a list of the students who helped!
Below you will find our end of the year activities and events. We are still working out a few details and those will be shared next week! If you have any questions, please let us know.
Best,
Alli Landstrom

IPM Notice
Public Acts 91-0099 and 91-0525 mandate Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for Illinois public schools. IPM manages pest damage with the least possible hazard to people, property and the environment; including judicious use of pesticides. In this context, “pesticide” includes insecticide, herbicide, rodenticide, and fungicide.
IPM provides parents/guardians or staff members with prior notice of herbicide application. As you have requested, please be aware that on May 26th, weather permitting, a weed control application will applied to the mulched areas including the courtyards, fenced areas (inside cooling tower, chiller and cell tower fences), fence lines (athletic fields) and bleacher pads at Peterson. This application will be a “Pre-Emergent and Spot Treatment”. We match herbicide and application procedures to our school environment. All are approved for school use, and are an important part of buildings and grounds maintenance. Typically, this application will not present a health concern to students or staff. However, it is the intent of IPM to allow those with special sensitivity to take appropriate precautions: in the case of children, as determined by a parent or guardian. If you have further questions, please call my office at (630)428-6580.
Sincerely,
Ismael Carrizales

IPEF’s Gifts of Gratitude Year-End Program
The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation is offering an opportunity to pay tribute to teachers and staff members through its Gifts of Gratitude year-end program. Open to all, but especially for those students who will be moving to the next level of their education, express your appreciation during this graduation/promotion season. By making a tax-deductible donation in the honoree’s name, you express your gratitude for the staff member going “above and beyond” for your child. Each educator honored will receive a personalized certificate with a custom message from you. Please submit your donation and custom message here by May 21 to ensure delivery by the end of the school year.
