At the end of every trimester, Hannum students take time to celebrate all they have achieved. Our PBIS team paired classrooms together for these celebrations. Kindergarten works with third grade, first grade works with fourth grade, and second grade works with fifth grade.
At Kolmar, the original winter parties had to be rescheduled because of the very frigid temps and our E-Learning day before winter break, but there was still fun to be had! In January Kolmar students enjoyed their winter parties. It was a great way to kickstart 2023!
On a chilly Friday evening, Mother Nature provided a snowy bonus while the Sward gym was transformed into a winter wonderland by the PTA. These young ladies and their special dates danced, made snowflake crafts, and enjoyed yummy snacks. Mrs.

For every book students read over the break, they were sponsored by family members, neighbors, and friends.
After discovering their common love of crochet,Ms. Capriola and Ms. Rodriguez decided to start a club to promote and share their love of the craft. There are so many benefits to crochet. Learning a new skill can boost self-esteem and provide a sense of accomplishment.
The OLHMS Cheerleading program hosted their first competition showcase on Saturday, January 28th. The Southside Spirit Showdown included 10 teams that competed for first place in the Southside! OLHMS Cheerleading coaches Nuhie Faheem and Julie Owens organized the entire event with help from the OLHMS cheerleaders and families who volunteered their time to make this event spectacular!
Since October 18th, Ms. Hughes and Mr. Edie have been preparing their cast and crew members for a play they will always remember and cherish. Last Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday, our High School Musical Jr. cast performed for their teachers, family members, loved ones, and friends.
VIEW 2023-24 CALENDAR During the January 23rd Board of Education meeting, the 2023-2024 D123 academic school calendar was approved. Some highlights from the calendar include: The school year will start with two days of staff institutes; August 21 and 22. The first day of student attendance will be Wednesday, August 23rd and will be a half day from 8:30-11:30 am.
