Meet the Teacher Night...
Just a reminder that we will not do schedule changes Wednesday night. If you would like to request a schedule change, there will be a form to fill out in the front office. Ms. La Rosa will review them and get back to you by the end of the week.
Meet the new staff to LVMS!!
Jayme Spexarth -- Assistant Principal
When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband Matt, two sons, Noah (8 years old), Isaiah (6 years old) and new baby Grace Ann. I love running,
cooking, antiques and Pinterest! I have a B.S. Family and Consumer Science Education from Kansas State University and a M.Ed Educational Leadership from Texas State University.
I am looking forward to joining the Lago Vista Middle School family for many reasons including the great campus culture, opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of students as well as staff, and small town environment that is similar to the community that I grew up in.
Misty La Rosa -- Counselor
I was born and raised in Nederland, Texas. I met my husband right after college and moved to San Antonio. Later, our family moved to New Braunfels. I have worked as a Kindergarten Teacher, a Third Grade Teacher, an Elementary Counselor, a High School Career Counselor and as a Middle School Counselor. I am so excited to have this opportunity to continue working as a Middle School Counselor at Lago Vista Middle School.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Lamar University in Beaumont, a Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and I most recently earned a Master's degree in Education in Instructional Design and Technology from West Texas A and M in Canyon, Texas.
I enjoy spending time with my family and my dogs. I like learning new things, seeing movies, cooking and baking.
Rachael Morrow -- 7th ELA
Hi! I am Rachael Morrow. I have been a middle school ELAR teacher (and other duties as assigned) for 12 years now. This is my fifth, nonconsecutive year at LVMS. It is, by far, my favorite place to work and the place I want my sons to be. I am married to Captain America (Jason), and I enjoy playing the role of Wonder Woman and raising our three sons, Cayden (9), Chason (6), and Collier (2). I love cooking, music, sweet tea, Starbucks, classic horror films, and I believe salsa counts as the greatest vegetable! I also believe it's a great day to be a Viking, and I'm glad to be back! ;) Be blessed!
Malonie Moeller -- 7th Science & Coach
Aimee Teague -- Lead Sped Teacher
Tricia Sosa -- Intro to Debate & Coach
I have been with Lago Vista ISD since 2012 and this is my first year teaching at Lago Vista Middle School (LVMS). Education has always been my passion and I enjoy learning and keeping current with new methods of teaching. When my son started elementary school, I volunteered at the school and felt the calling to become a classroom teacher. I have always wanted to teach and the students really energized me.
My hobbies include travel, tennis, swimming, and golf. I currently live in Point Venture with my husband JR and my son, Nick. I have been coming to Point Venture since I was a child and I love that I am now living here. I truly look forward to working with the administration, faculty, staff, and students at LVMS this coming year.
Devin Black -- 8th Math / Algebra I
My name is Devin Black, the new 8th grade Math and Algebra teacher. I have a Bachelor's is in Communications/Statistics from California State University at Sacramento and a Juris Doctor (law degree) from the University of the Pacific. I am responsible for starting and coaching Austin's only middle school Speech and Debate team which culminated in mock trials conducted in real courtrooms in front of real judges. I believe that every student, when given a growth mindset, with hard work can accomplish great things and learn anything they wish to learn. My classroom is set up to challenge students. We rejoice in failure because it is only through struggling with real-life application of mathematics that students can set themselves up to not just understand the material for the STAAR but become life-long learners!
My wife of seven years, Margo, is an elementary school teacher and together we have four kids: Savannah (5), Tristan (3), Wesley (2), and Camzin (1).
Jake Birdwell -- 7th Texas History & Coach
Hello! My name is Jake Birdwell and I am excited to teach 7th grade Texas History at Lago Vista Middle School. This will be my 7th year teaching and coaching. I played football for two years at Howard Payne University then finished up my bachelor’s degree at The University of North Texas, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in History. My wife Kristin and I got married last December and cannot wait to be a part of the community of Lago Vista!
