Elementary Updates
Dear Elementary Parents,
It’s hard to believe that it is already November. Soon we will be entering the holiday season when things tend to speed up as we are busy closing out the semester and attending holiday festivities. Holidays are a great time to read together as a family and bake together. Both of these activities help students improve their reading and math skills.
Additionally, the holidays are a great time to nurture our relationships and reflect upon all for which we are grateful. This is an opportune time to speak with our children about the words we choose to use in our interactions with others. Our words should validate and affirm one another instead of breaking people down even in the midst of conflicts. Please reinforce with your children these ideas of being kind to all peoples. I wish you a very happy November!
Best Regards,

Secondary Updates
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope this newsletter finds you all doing well. This school year has brought some amazing changes that have added to our student's experiences. The availability of transportation, partnerships with other schools, and new communication pathways have opened up several new capabilities.
The availability of transportation has allowed students to be involved in learning in different capacities. This month our HS Student Council took their bus ride to Stanton to participate in the fall leadership meeting for the region. The fall conference is also the first time our school is participating as an officer school in the region (as secretary). This month is also the first opportunity that we will have our MS Student Council and NJHS driving with their sponsors to San Marcos. The officers from both groups will be attending the annual conference for breakout sessions. Our students are also participating in sports and fine arts. They are traveling back and forth on a daily basis to our partner schools.
Our partnerships with other schools have provided opportunities previously not available. Our HS students were able to have our first Sr. Vs Jr. football game at Nimitz Middle School last month due to this shared partnership. We have had one of our students, Haley Hart, who made All-Region Choir with PHS. We have had several of our students placed in MS Golf as well.
Some of you may have also noticed our use of School Status to communicate through text and email. This new communication pathway helps us stay in contact with you the parent. If you get a call that says ECISD, it's probably one of your students' teachers calling in the new program.
These new additions are just a few of the ways that STEM is improving this coming year. I want to remind everyone we will also have Coffee with the Principal this month. The topic will be Setting Norms and Reading. The date is November 17, 7-7:30 am. Please join us. Happy Thanksgiving from our STEM Family to yours.

Elementary STUCO enjoyed a visit from Madison Guerrero, a local rising artist from UTPB, as she spoke on how her Hispanic heritage inspires her art.
