Interior of the Earth
The Earth's interior is made up of layers that lie beneath the crust. These layers are the mantle, the outer core and the inner core. These are important because it is what allows plate tectonics to occur and is what creates the magnetic field.
Plate Tectonics
Plate tectonics is several plates that move over the mantle. These plates are called the crust and is what we stand on every day. These plates are important because without them we wouldn't have mountains or the ground that we stand and live on.
Earth's Atmosphere
The Earth's atmosphere is made of gases that surrounds the Earth. It is composed of nitrogen, oxygen, argon, carbon dioxide, and other gases. These gasses are important because without these gasses the Earth would be freezing, we wouldn't be able to breath, and we wouldn't have the protection we need from the suns powerful ultra violet waves.
Earth's Magnetic Field
In the Earth the metal in the core creates a magnetic field. This magnetic field is important for many things. The main thing the magnetic field does is protect the Earth and its atmosphere by deflecting solar flares that would strip the ozone away and cause it to quit blocking the suns ultra violet waves.
