Updates/Reminders:
Halloween - This is a regular school day. We will be reminding students and parents that students and staff will not be dressing up and distracting from learning. We have several families that do not celebrate and students that do celebrate will have plenty of time to celebrate outside of school hours. Thank you for helping us make Halloween a day of learning.
Sunshine Committee - Here our the guidelines that the Sunshine Committee will use to celebrate/recognize staff this year. We are looking forward to celebrating staff in some small way monthly and plan to organize some after hours events for staff to attend if interested. Please share ideas if you have any with a committee member!
Golden Lunchbox/Adjusted Lunchtimes -
- This Monday, we will begin the adjusted lunch schedule. Please notify parents (dojo, newsletter, etc) if your lunch time was adjusted. We are hopeful that these adjustments will help our lunchroom operate more efficiently/effectively. We made minor tweaks after getting some feedback. The new lunch Schedule is here . We have also added this schedule to our Master Schedule.
- Please make sure you are ready tomorrow for the new times. It is important to be on time for drop off and pick up. Thank you for encouraging your class to have appropriate lunchroom behavior and being on time to move them in/out of the lunchroom at the appropriate times.
Which Grade Will Earn the Golden Lunchbox?
Starting this week, support staff in the cafeteria will be on the
lookout for ROARing Jaguars in the lunchroom. Each day, they will
select the grade level that has done the best job of using inside
voices, staying seated and keeping their area tidy. The winning grade
level will be posted on a white board in the cafeteria. At the end of
each week, the grade level that shows the best cafeteria will win the
Golden Lunchbox.
There is a mystery prize (that will change each week) in the Golden
Lunchbox that each student in the grade that wins it will receive. In
addition, grade levels who recieve the Golden Lunch Box 5 times will
be awarded open seating within their grade level at lunch.
Science Fair - Science Fair is fast approaching. Entry forms will be due October 29. Projects will be due November 13. Also, there will be an open house on November 13 from 6:00 to 7:00. By October 9, you should have science fair entry forms (English/Spanish) in your mailbox. Please include these forms in the October 11 Thursday folders. There will be extra copies on the worktable in the mailroom. Please return completed forms to Juliana Maul or Lisa Lowing (form does require a teacher signature). Please let Juliana or Lisa know if you have any questions.
November 6th/Conference Day - On November 6th, we will have a required workday that will be reserved for parent teacher conferences. Our PTA will be providing us lunch during the day.
Fence on Playground - We have learned that there is a hole in the fence on the playground. Our custodians are going to work to block it off as best they can. Please make sure you let your students know that they should not be going through the fence/jumping over the fence.
Make Note: The 2019 State Health Plan (SHP) Open Enrollment window is September 29, 2018 – October 31, 2018. It is very important for all qualifying employees to carefully review the information that was sent to all CCS employees this past week.
Public School Works - This was the training plan that was given out at our opening meeting regarding expectations for all school staff and training required. Please work to ensure all courses are complete ASAP. Our final deadlines are approaching and this is a requirement for all of us.
PDP - Please have all PDP goals for the year entered by Friday, October 12th. Eddie and I will begin signing off on Friday. We have met with most PLC's to discuss their goal. If you would like us to have a conversation regarding your goal, please let one of us know.
