Jolly Jack-O-Lanterns
It's a spooky time in the Panda Room! We painted black cats, made q-tip skeletons, drew dots by number, painted real pumpkins, made masking tape mummies, painted bats on the easel, and traced ghost shapes. During circle time, we listened to various Halloween-related songs and watched videos staring ourselves from StoryBots.com. Yesterday, we had an earthquake drill and hid under the tables until it was clear to evacuate.
During Friends Group, we danced with scarves, hammered nails into pumpkins, rolled mini pumpkins down slides, played table-top games (Zingo, Language Lotto, and Caribou), played Hide and Seek, carved a pumpkin, and pretended to be doctors/veterinarians. During P.E., we did the monster dance, rode scooter boards, hit balls with rackets, and played golf and t-ball!
Halloween costumes?
For the next couple of weeks we have a trick-or-treat themed dramatic play area. If anyone has any old/extra costumes that we could use for dress up, please send them in and I'll return them in a couple weeks! A reminder that there will be a CDC Halloween parade on 10/31 for both children and parents - more details to come.
