Cutest Ears Award
The Fennec Fox
The Fennec Fox is the smallest species of fox, but it's ears, which are about 6 inches long, seem to belong to a bigger relative. Their huge ears just make them look super cute though! Sadly, they are often hunter for their fur, so little is known about their population.

This fox is a member of the phylum Chordata. They live in the sandy Sahara desert and other places in North Africa. Fennec Foxes have nocturnal habits to help them to deal with the heat of the desert. They are called "opportunistic eaters" because they forage for plants but they also eat rodents, eggs, reptiles, and insects, and like most desert dweller they have developed the ability to go a long time without water. Luckily they are not endangered, but they are hunted for their fur.
