7th Grade
In Mrs. Simonton's science classes, the genetics unit is in full swing. Her students will be bringing home their Science Spirals on Friday. Make sure your child shows you all that they have been learning!
In Mr. Wilson's science classes, students are finishing up a unit on genetics. Throughout the unit they have learned about the inheritance of traits. Students have been busy making Punnett squares to determine the possibilities of offspring. We have also studied the real-life implications of genetics and completed a couple different projects, like a Punnett-square monster. Next week, students will review what we learned and have a test on Wednesday, 1/29.
Mr. Laidig's classes- Get ready!!! The U.S./State Constitution is coming to a 7th grade near you!!
8th Grade Science Fair Information!
8th grade students are in the beginning stages of preparing for the Warhawk Energy Fair schedule for February 13th. Students will choose an energy topic, research it, design an experiment around it, and present their information and findings to their class, other students, and teachers. Please check in with your student regularly on their progress by asking about their topic, what materials they need, their plans for an experiment, what their tri-fold layout looks like, and by practicing their final presentation with you. Students have been given a detailed calendar and guided packet to support them throughout the project. Thank for your support from home.
