Excellence In Everything - Edition XIV
Mr. Roger's Neighborhood!
“As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has- or ever will have- something inside that is unique to all time. It's our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression."
One Week To Go
However, what that means is that when we are tired, we have to push through it and maintain high standards for our kids and make sure we are using our instructional time wisely. So...here are a few things we need to clean up...
Phones - Students may not have them out when they are at school. Plain and simple. If there is a time when your class needs them, ask me for permission(Yearbook and Viking Voice is a good example). If students ask to play on their phones, the answer is always no, and you can blame me.
Advisory - At the beginning of the year, our staff set out some guidelines for Advisory and they are - Homework, UIL, Reading, Make Up Work, Extra Help, Enrichment work(Prodigy, etc). I know it's been a while since we've visited that, but make sure your Advisory has an academic structure to it. Advisory is not a time for students to set up races in the hall. And don't let them leave without a pass.
DHall - If you give a DHall, please make sure to put your name next to the student. It's hard to tell a kid to go to DHall when we have no idea who even put them in there.
Duty Schedules
If you can't make your duty assignment, please make sure to get it covered.
