For level-2 volunteers, please submit applications for a Level 2 check at least two weeks in advance for processing time. The $12.95 fee for becoming a level-2 volunteer (someone who wants to be a field trip chaperone) is only to be paid once. When a level-2 background check has expired, all the parent needs to do is fill out a level-1 to continue their level-2 volunteering. The parent will need to complete the level-1 background check annually since it expires every 12 months. The vaccination requirement is still in effect for all NSD volunteers. Volunteers will also be required to submit proof of vaccination through the Safe Visitor application system. At this time, volunteers who are not vaccinated can request a medical/religious exemption by emailing Jon Young in HR at jyoung3@nsd.org.

Important Reminder for Parent Drivers
Successful Hispanic Heritage Celebration
We had an amazing and successful Hispanic Heritage celebration.
LOTS of food-- amazing dishes that families made from all over Latin America. Many families even created signage to explain the dish and its origin. There was a lot of decor too!
Most importantly was the beautiful teamwork and camaraderie that was experienced. Kids and adults teamed up to create the flag lines and another group worked to hang them. People ate, got to know each other and felt so content about the event. We had a lot of people thanking us for organizing. It was a beautiful place for people to proudly represent themselves in community and be among friends, Hispanic and non-hispanic.
We estimate approximately 50 families came through between 4:00-6:00pm, it was amazing, we didn't expect such a turnout.
Fondly,
Natural Leaders Group

Are you missing a jacket or sweatshirt?
Make sure you check in the lost and found by the gym to see if it has been found and waiting for you.
Weekly Covid Case Update
The Department of Health (DOH) requires schools to inform families and students about COVID-19 case numbers and potential outbreaks. This week, there were a total of 2 confirmed case at our school. The accuracy of our data depends on self-reporting. Thank you for continuing to let the school know if your child tests positive for COVID-19. To view additional information, including school and district trends visit the District’s COVID-19 data dashboard. The dashboard is updated weekly on Monday evenings.
If your child is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 keep them home and test for COVID-19. Families can order free COVID-19 tests from the state. Together, we can keep our schools healthy and safe.
If your child is home sick or in isolation, they can access zoom classes here: Isolation Learning Support
