Week of October 9th
Principal's Message
Hello Fox Families,
I am so excited to be with you and meet you all as we embark on this wonderful school year. My name is Karen Mohr, and I am a former Elementary School Principal from Redondo Beach for 17 years, and I have a very diverse 34 year career in education. I am here to support staff, students, and parents for the next month and my passion is to help students feel loved and supported while giving teachers the support they need to do their job well. I have two grown daughters and one granddaughter who just turned two. I am an avid runner, and I love to travel and run all around the world- Berlin, London, and Paris so far. I am proud to be a Farragut fox and I look forward to meeting you.
Mrs. Mohr

Art and Innovation
Art and Innovation Update
Greetings families! Art and Innovation has been busy so far this year! During the first month, TK, kindergarten, and first grade worked on exploring different media, including oil pastels, watercolor paints, and collage. They tried out using different line types and shapes to make an image and expressing emotions in art. Students in grades 2-5 worked on drawing and cardboard construction skills. Keep an eye out for their drawing station folders which will be sent home soon. Each grade level was assigned a different observational drawing task and a different cardboard building inspiration. Students practiced using (and cleaning up!) the drawing center and the cardboard center as we work towards building more student autonomy in Art and Innovation. Please enjoy the photos below representing TK, kindergarten, and 2nd-4th grades.

Meal Applications
We need your help in submitting Free and Reduced Lunch Meal Applications
In order to support future funding for our district, we are asking all Farragut families to submit the Free and Reduced Lunch Meal Application.
Why is this important:
By submitting an application it can help your school with much funding for the classrooms.
If their student(s) qualify for Free or Reduced Price Meals, the household may be eligible to receive discounts on their utilities and internet services.
Their students will receive discount pricing for tests, such as ACT and SAT exams.
Increased participation in the Meal Application form district wide helps with additional, much needed funds.
Please complete the Meal Application link here - https://linqconnect.com
Thank you for supporting CCEF!
Thank you to everyone who supported CCEF:
With community support, we raised $10,000 from the Total Wine & More grand opening fundraiser. Each school can expect a $1,000 check, and the additional funds will provide districtwide support for CCEF-funded programs.
FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS: Each school year, CCEF contributes $1,000 to each elementary school garden - those checks are going out now!
CCEF's Annual Campaign continues - our suggested donation is $500 per student in your household. Any amount makes a big difference. You can even set up monthly donations to split it across the year.
Visit www.ccef4schools.org/donate to make a gift or look for our donation envelopes in school offices.
