Interactions of Light
Reflection, Absorption, Refraction, and Scattering
Reflection - What happens when light bounces off something; most object do not emit light but they reflect light from other light sources
Absorption- Is what happens when light energy is transformed into heat energy in the material is hitting
Refraction- The speed of light in a vacuum is constant at 300,000,000 m/s the speed of light slows down when it passes through a medium
Scattering- Light is what happens when light travels out in many different directions
Comparing and Contrasting
Reflection is when light bounces off of something and refraction is when the speed of light constant at 300,000,000 m/s
Absorption is when light energy is transformed into heat energy in the material is hitting and scattering is what happens when light travels out in different directiions
