#memorablemeaningfulmeasurable
Our Moral Imperative deepens each day as "We Show Up" to serve our JROB Dolphins!
Thank you for all that you do for Robinson students on a regular, everyday basis. I recently read an article called "We Show Up" This article made me immediately think of each of you and the hard work you do for your students, both academically and emotionally. Please take a few minutes to read over the article and know how much I appreciate that "you show up" in so many ways for your students, and for each other!
I am honored to serve with you - Damita

#memorablemeaningfuland measurable......Its time to check our school progress with the CORE survey
ALL Staff
Please complete your CORE survey (using the link emailed to you by Panorama Ed) no later than Thursday, February 22rd. ALL staff should take this survey.
ALL Families
Please use whatever method you have found to be effective to communicate with families, including Class DoJo, Remind 101, flyers, homework agendas, etc. This is the last week to complete the surveys and we want all of our families voice to be heard.
ALL 4th - 8th Grade Students
All 4th - 8th grade students must take the CORE survey this week. Wednesday and Thursday are preferable for 4th & 5th and MS will take the survey during PE, as not to leave it until the very last days. Please see the resources (and links) below for more information about student survey location and administration.

Emergency Preparedness begins with us!
In light of the recent, tragic events in Florida, I wanted to take a moment to discuss lock down procedures. This month we will be participating in another lock down drill in order to ensure best practices.
Some of the vital measures we MUST practice is the following:
- hallways are swept for students
- all doors must be locked
- windows should be covered, if possible
- lights are turned off
- Chromebooks are closed
- cell phones are silenced
- exterior hallway doors are closed and locked (Pearson, Stevens, Miller, Thornley -upstairs) (Brown, Love, Ponce, Vega, Arce - downstairs)
In an active shooter situation, this would be considered the HIDE strategy.
Two other strategies that are recommended by law enforcement are RUN and FIGHT. I am currently trying to secure district trainers who will come to the school site to deliver factual information to the staff, so that we are clear on all of the strategies. The office staff has recently had the active shooter training. I will, of course, let you know when we will be receiving the training.
I would highly recommend NOT addressing specifics with your students UNTIL we are properly trained. What they DO need to know is that they must follow your instructions during the lock down.
The district just installed an alarm system that, with a flip of a switch, will alert the entire school that there is an active shooter on campus. This switch will NEVER be used in a drill while students are on campus. If the message is activated, please take immediate steps for a lock down emergency.
I have been assuring parents that we participate in monthly drills and that we have had the emergency messaging system installed. Please don't hesitate to stop by with any questions or concerns you may have.
Thank you - Paula
