Message from Mr. Graham
Greetings Granville Academy Families:
I hope that all of you have enjoyed a relaxing and safe summer. We have been very busy at Granville Academy preparing for an exciting new year. I am very honored and grateful to serve in the position of Principal of GA. I worked closely with Dr. Wrenn for a good part of the year last year, so am familiar with many of you already. We wish Dr. Wrenn the very best in her new role at Department of Public Instruction. We will continue working to fulfill her dream of making Granville Academy the best innovative school in the state.
We are happy to welcome several outstanding new staff members this year.
Ms. Mary Warehime will be joining us as the Dean of Instruction. Mary was formerly the Assistant Principal at Tar River and is very familiar with GA.
Ms. Kimberly Allison is our new Middle School Math teacher. Kimberly has worked as a tutor for GA High School students, so is also familiar with GA. She comes to us from Hawley Middle School.
Mr. Michael Spradlin will serve as our Middle School ELA/SS teacher. Michael has been at Northern Granville Middle for the past several years.
Ms. Trina Ellis is our new receptionist/data manager. Trina comes to us from being the lady who greeted everyone at County Office. She has been busy learning new roles and assisting Mrs. Glass with running Summer School for the district as well as enrolling new GA students.
Ms. Cynthia Hester is our IT support this year. Cynthia is a veteran who was at Tar River quite a bit last year, so is already acquainted with many of the staff.
Another significant change is moving from Credle to the Mary Potter Campus for those on the Northern end of the County. Our administrative offices will be located there as well.
We look forward to meeting with you at our Open Houses. They will be held on the following days and times:
- August 20th: High School Open House at the GA Mary Potter Campus (4:00 – 6:00)
- August 21st: K-8 Open House at the GA Tar River Campus (3:30 – 6:30)
- August 22nd: K-8 Open House at the GA Mary Potter Campus (3:30 – 6:30)
Our Daily Schedule will be very close to last year’s:
- GA Pirates in grades K-5: 8:30am – 12:00pm
- GA Pirates in grades 6-8: 9:00am – 1:00pm
Lunch will be provided for those choosing them as a “Grab and Go” option. Students will pick up their lunches on the way out.
Special Classes will work similar to last year, with those at the GA Mary Potter Campus still being ironed out. Your patience with this is greatly appreciated.
Please check our website (https://ga.gcs.k12.nc.us/) for further information, such as Supply Lists and more information from your teachers.
We are very excited to meet with you and begin this terrific new year!

One of the best traditions in America is celebrating your senior year of high school. Strawbridge Studios, INC. has been selected as your official senior and yearbook photographer. Please have your student photographed by Strawbridge this year. We understand you are given portrait options; however please take a look at the proofs before you decide to go to another studio. We offer a wide variety of options and give a portion of the sales back to your school.. Schools use these funds to further enhance their educational programs.
The Granville Academy student appointment times are 10am-12pm on August 12th at South Granville High School. If you have any questions, please contact Tiana Phillips at (336) 639-2704.
