A Message from the director
Forever in our Hearts
There are not enough words to describe how much Ms. Jensen meant to all of us. Her passion for children went well beyond her amazing ability to teach. She was a champion well beyond the classroom, supporting each and every child and giving them constant love and care. She had an uncanny ability to reach into people’s hearts and give them just what they needed.
In her daily activities at the school she would not only coach students but coach teachers as well, helped coordinate Science Olympiad and she even helped as a bus monitor.
Whenever anyone needed anything, she was the first to volunteer and give her all.
Ms Jensen would walk into a room and immediately everyone was at ease and smiling. Her laughter was infectious and she made you just feel better about the world.
We will all miss the daily presence of Ms. Jensen but she will remain with us in our hearts and we will carry her always with us.
Sincerely,
Yalcin Akin, Ph.D

Mrs. Saucedo’s students have been learning about Native American Tribes and this week students conducted research on the Iroquois, Hopis, Comanches and Tlingit tribes. Students analyzed the differences and similarities of their food, clothing, shelter, tools and art, and explained how the conditions where they lived impacted their way of life. In the next two weeks, students will create artifacts that represent these tribes and other North American Civilizations.
In Reading, we started informational texts and our focus is on identifying two or more main ideas, and the importance of text features. Students used real world application of text features by coding with “Artie,” our class robot, they read step by step instructions and were able to code successfully!
