Workshops will be offered this fall.
Interested participants should register for the session(s) by using the Workshops-Registration Catalog on the Online Registration System at https://www.bcps.org/apps/registration. 88. STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES (SLOS) (held at Sandy Plains)
Teachers will be responsible for creating SLOs that will be approved by principals on or before Friday, October 24, 2014, and implemented and assessed by Friday, February 27, 2015. SLOs are to be developed as an outgrowth of the School Progress Plan and should be in alignment with the principal's SLOs. The template and examples of SLOs have been updated for the 2014-20155 school year and can be found on the Staff Relations and Employee Performance Management's Intranet Web site at https://intranet.bcps.org/offices/staff_relations/nter/.
131. ELEMENTARY LANGUAGE ARTS - UNIT PREVIEW WEBINARS
The Office of Language Arts PreK-12 will be providing Webinars approximately two weeks prior to the start of each of the elementary units. This will allow all teachers to participate in professional learning to develop a deeper understanding of the unit by unpacking the target standards, performance-based assessments, and anchor texts. Teachers will be able to participate synchronously, and Webinars will be recorded to be viewed at any time in the future. Building administrators will have both options available to them in order to schedule teacher participation in a way that will best meet the needs of their schools.
The Webinar for Unit 1 has been prepared as a prerecorded Webinar to allow teachers to have access to the new Unit 1, which was revised from last year. The Unit 1 Webinar is available for viewing beginning Thursday, August 28, 2014.
The ELA Unit Preview Webinar schedule is available at the following link: https://intranet.bcps.org/offices/language_arts/ELA-pro-dev.html.
