Principal Notes:
Dear Cimarron Families,
At Cimarron we have many things to be thankful for. It is easy to take the little things for granted when we have so much, but we are often reminded that the little things we do and say are what leads us to succeed and grow as individuals. This week I want to say thank you to all of you for the consistent support you offer to our students and staff on a daily basis. On behalf of the staff at Cimarron Middle School, we want to wish our Cimarron community a very happy Thanksgiving!
This quarter has been full of many highlights. We kicked off the quarter with our Be RED assembly. This aligned our common vision of empowering students to act in ways that are Respectful, Excellent and Determined. Other highlights this quarter include the Fall Play, Empowered, Iron Chef Cookoff, Math Competition for our Cimarron Math Team, basketball and wrestling teams getting underway, cheer team and unified soccer team also have begun. Thank you for your continued support with all of the enrichment and choice programs that we are able to offer our students!
Since the beginning of the school year, students and staff have prepared for Veterans’ Day. This culminated today with our 7th Annual Veterans' Day Celebration. This event provided many of us with much emotion including tears, a sense of honor and a great deal of pride in our students, our school and our nation. The comments that were received from district staff, city officials, Veterans, students and family members expressed heartfelt appreciation for our school community and country. The students were respectful and showed empathy throughout the whole presentation. The deep level of learning from the students transcended throughout the entire experience.
Our parent volunteers put out the lost and found. There are many items including hoodies, water bottles and lunch boxes. The items that are not returned to their owner will be donated during Thanksgiving break. In order to minimize the amount of lost items, please put your student’s name on their belongings. This way we will be able to return items to students.
Please read all of the important information in this week’s Colts Chronicle. There are many exciting opportunities coming up!

Monitoring Student Safety in the Mornings
To assist in keeping Cimarron Middle School a safe place for all, we ask that all students enter the school at the main entrance/front door each day upon arrival at school. Please DO NOT enter the building in the back by mobiles. Thank you for your attention to this important safety matter.
Parents, please pick up your students using the pick up lane in front of the school and not on Canterberry. An additional safety reminder for all students walking to and from school. Students are to cross the street at crosswalks with crossing guards. Please do not cross at the four way stop at the entrance of Cimarron. Thank you.
