We Are Back
Liberty Public Schools has begun the 2020-2021 school year! It may look different this year but we are excited to bring REAL WORLD LEARNING experiences for our students to THRIVE.
Thank you -- businesses and community partners, for providing experiences for our students, in the form of mentoring, internships, job shadowing, participating on career panels, student professional development, providing field trips, hosting student Advisory Boards, and others. Click here to get involved.
This year may have more virtual elements for some of these programs and we may need to think outside of the box, but YOU are the ones who make REAL WORLD LEARNING meaningful. We have multiple ways to be involved and look forward to continuing partnerships. We remain determined to be #InThisTogetherLPS.
Network53
Network53 is a community effort that has been created to strengthen the connection between education and industry for the benefit of all students. It is a partnership between parents, community members, educators, and area businesses who support experiential learning for students through internships, mentoring, and other career awareness activities.
Below are several examples of the programs available to our students:
Internship Program
Liberty Public Schools is excited to enter its second year of our Network53 Internship Program. Network53 seeks to pair LPS students with area businesses and professionals to learn more about different careers throughout our community while helping them develop their professional skills and build their own professional networks.
The Educational Internship Program
This year, 130 LPS seniors will look at learning and teaching in a slightly different way as they intern in local elementary and middle school classrooms as members of the Educational Internship Program (EIP). EIP has offered an in-depth teaching experience to students since the 1990s. Follow us @LPS_EIP on Twitter to learn more about our teaching journeys.
KC Tech Academy
Delivering Industry-Led Education to Empower Life-Ready Manufacturing Professionals.
Juniors and Seniors have the option to attend our two-year program in Advanced Manufacturing. Completion of our 2-year competency-based program allows graduating students to be workforce ready with a well-paying and highly sought-after technical skill right after high school with no student debt! Curriculum is structured by industry and instruction is provided by a combination of professional educators and real-world subject matter experts with industry standard tools. Students participate in internships as part of their training. KC Tech Academy’s vision is to be the most efficient creator of top skilled professionals with the highest placement rate into the manufacturing industry and no debt to the student.

Early College Academy at MCC Maple Woods
The part-time LPS Early College Academy is open to all students entering their junior or senior year of high school who meet specific qualification standards. Students who pursue this opportunity will attend MCC-Maple Woods for half of the school day. Transportation will be provided for students who attend in the afternoon.
