James F. Swift Scholarship of the Scranton Area Foundation
DEADLINE: MARCH 15, 2019
Amount: $4,000
The Program:
The Scranton Area Foundation has established the James F. Swift Scholarship to assist students from Lackawanna County, PA high schools who plan to continue their education in a college or university program. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution, preferably one of the Lackawanna County colleges or universities of the student's choice. Scholarship is provided and administered through Scholarship America. Students will be notified in May, 2019 if they are selected as a recipient.
CRITERIA:
- Must be a graduating high school senior from Lakeland School District or another school district within Lackawanna County.
- Must be planning to enroll for the first time in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college/university, preferably one of the following Lackawanna County Schools: Summit University, Johnson College, Keystone College, Lackawanna College, Marywood University, Pennsylvania State University/Worthington, University of Scranton
- Current transcript must be submitted with application
- The student is responsible for forwarding all required information.

2019 Mike Munchak Community Service Scholarship
Deadline: MARCH 31, 2019
Amount: $6,300
**Scholarship is not renewable and will be awarded for 1 year only**
WHO: High School students from Lackawanna and Wayne Counties who plan to pursue a secondary education.
CRITERIA:
- Be graduating seniors from a public, private or charter school in Lackawanna or Wayne Counties, PA and/or be full-time residents of Lackawanna or Wayne Counties, PA.
- Have demonstrated community service activities within programs/agencies funded by United Way.
- Meet minimum academic requirements (GPA of 2.5 or better).
- Submit a valid FAFSA Score (EFC Number). Copy of the page indicating score must be attached.
- Be accepted by an accredited university, college or trade school in a two or four year degree program.
- Complete and submit a valid signed application form along with all required documentation, essay response and letter of reference from the nominating United Way funded program/agency.

Paul T. Bordi Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
**Offered through the CMC-FCPI Federal Credit Union in memory of Paul T. Bordi, who was a well-known local baseball scout.
WHO: High School Seniors
CRITERIA:
- 500 word essay on how sports has made you a better student
- Letter of recommendation from school counselor or coach
- Report card or transcript showing at least a 2.9 GPA
- Participation in a school sponsored sport
- Must be attending a post secondary school in the fall of 2019
