The School That Leads

May 6, 2019

Dear Little Hawks,

Greetings from The School That Leads!

Prom a Great Success!

City High's "May The Fourth Be With You" prom was a great success. Students enjoyed a positive, lovely night. Proud of our students and grateful to our staff who planned and organized such a special night.

Thank You Parents For Awesome Party After Prom

Party After Prom was a wonderful success thanks to our generous parents who planned the event and carried it out. Thanks to these folks, our students had a safe, fun, special night. Well done!

Senior Futures Day

City High Seniors celebrated a "Signing Day" of sorts, filling out their own star with a statement of their future plans. This is displayed in our main foyer. Seniors have many wonderful plans. We know they are prepared and ready for success.

AP Exams

Advanced Placement (AP) exams start this week. We are proud of the effort so many of our students have put forth challenging themselves with these rigorous courses. We wish students all the best on their exams. Scores of 3 or better on AP exams can help students earn a semester course's worth of college credit at many colleges across the country.

Jazz Ensemble and Wind Ensemble at IBA This Week!

Both programs are preparing for their prestigious performances at the Iowa Bandmasters Conferences in Des Moines later this week. This is a very high honor for our program-- to have both Jazz Ensemble and Wind Ensemble selected is a rare a special accomplishment.
