A Message from Dr. Bearden...
Happy Monday! At Principal Chat last Tuesday, we discussed that the last day for new instruction will be Friday, May 8th in Fulton County. Assignments are posted at SHE Digital Plans for the week of May 4th. Next week, May 11th thru 15th, teachers will still be working with students on a variety of activities and their plans will be posted per normal.
The week of May 18th thru 22nd will be filled with end of the year activities. There won't be lesson plans, but we will have a schedule for you in next week's HH.
There is information below for Career Day and Talent Show. Please take the time to scroll down and read this important information. We will continue to keep you up to date with how the end of the year will unfold virtually as we have that information.
We are also working on a plan for parents to pick up student belongings, meds, yearbooks, etc. on May 18th & 19th. As well, we know that parents may need to return items such as library books, etc. and these can be dropped off on those days as well. We will have a schedule by family last name. SHE Pick-Up/Drop-Off plan will be finalized and shared at SHE Principal Chat on Tuesday, May 5th. As well, it will be published on the SHE website and via next week's Hilltop Happening.
I also wanted to let you know that other staff members, who are not teachers, such as Carol Shenk, Front Office, Kimberly Thompson, Clinic Aide, and others are checking in on the students through Seesaw and Teams. We ALL miss the children and commenting on Seesaw and joining Teams meetings helps our support staff to also feel connected to the students.
SHEShares for May is focused on Milton Families and 1st Responders. If you would like to donate gift cards for the May SHEShares, you can mail gift cards of $10 or more (Kroger, Publix, WalMart, Target, Visa/MC, dining, etc.) to Summit Hill Elementary ATT: SHESHares, 13855 Providence Road, Milton, 30004. Please ask for OR keep a copy of the gift receipt from the retailer, if you need tax documentation. Thank you all for SHARING and CARING!!
That is all from me this week! Thank you for reading and your continued encouragement for our teachers! We are partners and we share a deep love for your child(ren)! On behalf of SHE staff, we pledge to continue to provide you with resources, lessons, activities, and we will do it without fail! Please let us know when you need help, support, encouragement, etc. We will let you know when we need the same!
Please reach out if you have any questions or anything to share. Take care, Lorrie
