** CLUB UPDATES **
Watch your child's backpack for new information regarding upcoming Master Chef and Master Chef Jr. clubs. We had an overwhelming response to these new clubs and because so many students wanted to take part, we needed to make some changes.
Not every student interested in participating will be able to do so.
In addition, the clubs are now set up in sessions. Please take note of the new dates.
If your child does not receive new cooking club information - please be patient. We are excited to be able to offer many new club activities that will be starting soon. There will be an opportunity for your child to take part in a club this year!
Parents - please note!
Brrrr! Don't forget to dress for the weather!
Head Lice Information
Head lice cases have been increasing in number in the US, most commonly among the age group of 3 to 11 years old. With this in mind, we want to offer a little information on how to identify head lice and what you can do if you find them. Lice are tiny insects that feed on blood and stay close to the scalp. They lay eggs called nits, which look a yellow/white color. Unlike dandruff, nits cannot be easily brushed away. A common symptom of a case of head lice is an itchy and inflamed scalp. Head lice are most often spread from direct head-to-head contact, though they also can be spread via objects such as hats, brushes, and hair ribbons that have come in contact with an infested person. Head lice do not cause illness or carry disease and are not related to cleanliness. If you think your child has head lice, talk to your healthcare provider to discuss the best treatment for your family. There are both over the counter and prescription treatment options. On behalf of our school health staff, we want to keep you informed so that you and your student can have great school year. We hope you find this information useful.
