Back to Learning!
Now that we are back to school, we wanted to emphasize the importance of children completing assignments and getting their work done in a timely manner. Additionally, while our digital students are at home, they are supposed to be online during the normal school day time from 8:30 AM-3: 15 PM. Please check in on your children at home to make sure they are not logging off during the day, ignoring assignments and neglecting the school day. We are not in the same "grace," period of grades and completion like we were in the spring and we want to remind our families of that fact. Please also continue to communicate with us about challenges you may be having with your child learning from home. We are here to listen and support.
If you are still in need of a laptop or hotspot, please don't neglect to let us know. Also, if you have a laptop and/or hot spot and your child is back in school, the devices are to be returned immediately to our school. We will need their teachers to be able to use those during the school day.
Additional Reminders:
1. Students must wear masks at school (We have some for sale for $10 and also some others at school should they come without them)
2. Our digital students are doing a GREAT job learning virtually! We know that it is a transition for all, but we are proud of our students for staying focused during the day. We have such a strong digital community!
3. Students should be online from 8:30 AM until the end of the day which usually ends no later than 3:15 PM. With teachers trying to teach live at a higher level, they will need to have the students on during a normal school day. Please make sure they are on and engaged in a quiet space void of distractions and others.
4. If your child has any cold, flu or Covid-Symptoms, please keep them home. Also, let us know if your child was in touch with anyone who is a contact also. We have to follow strict procedures for this and appreciate your input and understanding. We are finding that parents are doing a great job with this. Keep it up!

2nd grade IOWA Testing is NEXT WEEK!
This was sent to all 2nd grade Parents-Please make sure you have contacted Mrs. Lyons for sign-up digital parents
Dear Parents,
Your child will be participating in the 2020 administration of the national Iowa Assessment which measures students’ achievement in Reading, Language Arts, and Math. The results of this test will help assess how well your child is performing and assist with plans to meet your child’s academic needs.
The administration will be delivered as follows:
· Tuesday, September 29, 2020: Second Grade
· Wednesday, September 30, 2020: Second Grade
Thank you for making sure your child is present and on time for test day. Testing for 2nd Grade will occur on the days listed and there will not be a makeup administration for the 2020 Iowa assessment.
Although no studying or preparation is necessary for this test, the following recommendations should help your child do his/her best each day:
· Get plenty of rest
· Eat a healthy breakfast
· They should bring two #2 pencils with them to test
For morning arrival, please drop your child off in the car rider lane between 8:15am-8:45am. You will need to print this letter and detach the bottom portion of this letter to send with your child. This will allow them to enter testing.
All testing should be complete by 12:00pm. Please come to the bus lane in front of the school at 12:00pm to pick up your child. You will need to bring this letter and your driver’s license with you to pick up your child. If someone other than yourself will be picking up your child, please make sure they are on the emergency contact list. At this time, you may pick up a lunch and breakfast free of charge.
Thank you very much for encouraging and supporting your student during testing. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Elizabeth Lyons at 678-714-5770.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Lyons, Assistant Principal
