Environmental Science
We will be visiting our bird nest materials that we spread outside for the birds in our creek area. If most of our yarns, newspaper strips and “fuzzy wuzzys” are gone; we know the birds found them for their nests!!
Our alphabet hike to the creek will have our students searching for nature items that begin with a letter and/or sound – always a fun and challenging activity.
Spring is also a great time to introduce seeds and the concept of a little plant living inside! By planting marigold seeds in pots in our greenhouse, the PreK’s hope to prove that it is true! Since your child’s seedling will be coming home to your house in May, please be thinking of a safe (dog-free) sunny space (garden or pot) for their little plant to thrive. Directions will come with their marigold plant. Happy Gardening!

Drama
Pre-K had a fun adventure pretending to be insects a few weeks ago. We acted out specific traits for all kinds of bugs (and a few insect cousins like spiders and scorpions). We also got another crack at Rory’s Story Cubes, which is a popular favorite. The cubes have different pictures on each side and each student selects a cube, rolls it, and the class must act out the picture. Kids love the fact that nobody knows what will happen with the cubes!
P.E.
Pre-K students attended our Jump Rope for heart event before we left for Spring Break. We will continue working on our jumping rope skills by playing snake in the grass and using our pogo jumpers. Our main focus at this age is getting the rope over their head.
