GWMS Sunday Message
Week of April 18
Kudos to…
Ms. Currie-Boyd and Ms. Edmond - Thank you for the delicious lunch you all provided for Hot Dog Day. It was truly made our day and lifted our spirits!
Ms. Benitez, Ms. Feiler, Ms. Haisfield, Ms. Turizo, Ms. Thrash, Ms. Rivas and Ms. Kennedy for covering classes when we are low on substitutes. Thanks for pitching in where ever you are needed.
Ms. Goodwin thank you for taking your time to create and teach our teachers and staff the routine for May's pep rally! We can't wait to see it!
Ms. Kelly-Snoddy for permitting counselors to use her classroom for groups and Student Ambassador training both in the Fall and in the Spring. We are currently holding groups weekly both 3rd and 4th periods and she permits us to utilize her classroom space so we can meet with the students. Thanks Ms. Kelly-Snoddy!
Ms. Juliet Warteng and Michelle Vaughn from Therapeutic Intervention for covering lunch for sixth grade counselors on days the counselors have both classroom guidance lessons and groups all day.
Ms. Charbonneau for permitting us to use her classroom in the Fall for Student Ambassador training and groups. Thanks Ms. Charbonneau!

Now it is time for our PBIS vocabulary game….. WORDS WITH FRACULTY
WORDS WITH FRACULTY! This week’s intellectually snobbish, impractical, obsolete, and vacuous word will be stated on the announcements. Students will be challenged to use the word in its proper context per the appropriate content area to gain prexie love in their classes.
THIS WEEKS WORD: cavalcade (noun) - A procession of persons on horseback.
The king's army was relieved to know that a cavalcade of reinforcements was riding in to help.

Mail Chimp
Mail Chimp has proven to be a great way to keep our GW families in the loop with all of the fantastic things that go on at GWMS. Thank you to everyone for your contributions…..KEEP THEM COMING! You are doing great work with our students and the parental feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
Continue to send your pictures and short write-ups to Ms. Barnes - adriane.barnes@acps.k12.va.us - to share all the wonderful things going on in your classrooms.
Thank you!
HALLWAY SUPPORT AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Please stand in the middle of the hallways and actively monitor and support students on their way to class. We need to perform as a unified team in this respect. The power of the many is what makes transitions smooth and orderly. Simply put, we cannot do this alone.
Saturday School
There IS Saturday School this Saturday.
Please make sure you fill out the Saturday School referral form and send all work to the 7th grade office for Ms. Benitez to have ready for the students when they check in.
