School Theme - Raise The Bar
We are challenging everyone to Raise The Bar this year. Our school theme was selected with input from both students and staff. Whether it's academically, athletically, or socially, we can all challenge ourself to be better this year. Students have already started to set goals and challenge past accomplishments. I encourage you to talk to your student to see how they are going to Raise The Bar this year!

Jay Stream Walk-A-Thon & Jayhawk Jaunt
Please consider donating to the PTA Walk-A-Thon fundraiser. The Jay Stream Walk-A-Thon & Jayhawk Jaunt will take place on Friday, September 15. This is the PTA's only fundraiser of the year. Your donations will help pay for 8th grade events, team/club parties, staff appreciation, community celebrations, Halloween dance, inflatables for 6th grade night, and much, much more!
Student Handbook Highlight - Lunch & Drink
Lunch: Jay Stream does not accept delivery from food delivery services like Door Dash or UberEats. If your student forgets their lunch, parents or guardians may drop off a lunch and the office will ensure that your student gets it.
Drink: Students may carry water bottles throughout the day. Water bottles can be filled up at one of the many water bottle filling stations in the hallway. Students may drink pop, juice, tea, etc at lunch, but those drinks may not be consumed outside of the lunchroom.

Parents of Students With Unexcused Absences to Be Sent Automated Messages
Starting Tuesday, September 5, 2023, when a student is absent from school and a parent has not called them in, their parent(s) will receive automated calls, text messages, and emails notifying them of this information at around 8:45 a.m.
Our goal is to keep parents informed through multiple methods as early as possible so that we’re able to more quickly work with you to determine the whereabouts of students with unexcused absences. This system was in place last school year and we wanted to get through the first few weeks of school before instituting it again this year.
