Dr. Patterson's Weekly Update
Eagle Pride: Video by Dr. Patterson
February 16, 2019
Happy Saturday Eagles!
Thank you to our parents and students who participated in our Krispy Kreme fundraiser! All order forms and money were due on Friday, February 15. We plan for all purchased vouchers to be sent home with students on Wednesday, February 20. Proceeds from this fundraiser allow us to purchase supplies for IB projects and experiments for students that can not be covered by state or federal funds. We appreciate your support of our school!
Thank you to all who participated in our canned food drive! This drive benefited the United Way CHEW Program, which directly impacts students in our school. Ms. Nathan and Mrs. Carter collected items on Friday, and we will be excited to announce the winning class next week.
Students received midterm reports this week. We are proud of our students' growth and progress! A huge thank you to parents for supporting your child's growth by reading nightly at home and practicing math facts. Reading nightly and mastering math facts will make a huge impact on students' success at school!
Spelling Bee Winner
Congratulations to Michelle Foy for winning our 3-5 Spelling Bee!! She is eligible to compete in the Onslow County Schools Spelling Bee. We are so proud of you Michelle!
Illness
We have many children experiencing illness right now. Nurse Duane has sent many children home with fever, vomiting and coughing. Children are arriving to school in the morning with fever and/or after vomiting at home. It is very important to check your child before they come to school in the morning. If they are complaining of not feeling well and have had temperature greater than 100.0, are vomiting at home, and are coughing frequently PLEASE do not send them to school.
These students can easily transmit illness to other students, teachers, parents and staff.
Students who have been sick with fever and vomiting must be fever free for 24 hours, without fever reducing medication and must not be vomiting for at least 24 hours before returning to school.
Parents are reminded to update phone numbers if there have been changes to your number. It is very important that school personnel are able to reach you in case of emergency or regarding important school information which needs to be passed along by phone.
Free and Reduced Lunch
Free breakfast and lunch for all students ended on Thursday, January 31. If you have not filled out the Free and Reduced Lunch application, please apply today. If your student will continue to pay for lunch, please make sure money is on his or her account.
