Adapted Community Recreation
Columbia Parks and Recreation offers adapted recreation programs (Adapted Community Recreation), located at Stuart Parker Housing Development (formerly Paquin Tower), and is designed for individuals with special needs. The program is open to the community. Also offered, is Adapted Sports housed at the Activity and Recreation Center (ARC). If you wish to participate in any Parks and Recreation activity, yet feel you may need some special accommodation, please call the office.

Adapted Sports
The City of Columbia offers numerous sports to individuals with special needs. Competitions are through Special Olympics, however, competing is not required for participation. When you register, please be sure that your athlete has a current physical and release form. New participants must schedule a New Athlete Meeting prior to participation. To schedule a new athlete meeting, contact Jessica Sida.

Here are some of the happenings in November 2016:
Jewelry Workshop
Join us at the Paquin Tower art room at 12 pm November 4th for making some jewelry projects or work on a piece that is in need of some repair. Materials will be provided. $1 dollar donations are appreciated
Cracker Barrel
On November 9th a shuttle will be leaving Paquin Tower at 10:30 am for Cracker Barrel for lunch. Make sure you bring money for your meal and have a current Recreation Card.
Ornament Workshop
Meet us in the art room from 5-7 pm on the Thursdays of November 10th and 17th for ornament workshops in preparations for the Christmas season. Fee is $5 per person and ornaments will be created on the first Thursday and painted on the following Thursday.
MU Swimming and Diving
Join us for a walk from Paquin Tower to MU's campus to cheer on the Tiger's swimmers and divers. We'll leave at 10 am from Paquin on November 17.
Dance at the ARC
Join us at the ARC for a fun night of great music and lots of dancing on November 18 at 6:30 pm. Snacks will be provided. Cost is $5.00 at the door and is located at 1701 W. Ash St. Columbia, MO 65203.
Happy Hour Fitness (HHF)
Happy Hour Fitness is a small group that meets Monday through Friday at 3 pm to be more active. Fridays are chair yoga days the other days are open to suggestion!
Pokemon GO!!!!
Calling all trainers who wanna be the very best. At 3 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the month of September a group of devoted trainers will leave Paquin on foot to hunt down Pokemon and Poke Stops. Be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes and your phone! Gotta catch'em all!!!!
Unofficial Paquin Movie Group
The movie group will meet in the lobby of Paquin every Tuesday evening at 6 pm. Movies shown will be voted on the week before and popcorn will be provided.
